All About the Micros Masterclass [Micros Masterclass FAQ Part 1]

Over the years, we’ve had a lot of questions from Optimisers as they embark on their quest of Nutritional Optimisation.  

So, in response, we’ve mined the data for answers and documented the most important and interesting findings in this FAQs series. 

The interaction between micronutrients and satiety is fascinating.  We hope you enjoy learning as much as we did compiling this for you!

During the Micros Masterclass, we’ll happily point you to the answers as questions arise.  However, feel free to ‘skip ahead’ and learn more about the process we’ll be guiding you through in the Micros Masterclass.

Why Did We Create the Micros Masterclass?

We have seen endless confusion as people jump on the latest dietary trends (e.g. keto, low-fat, low-carb, high-protein, low-protein, vegan and carnivore). 

While every new diet fad seems to have a special name that unites people around it, the simple reality is your body needs enough nutrients without excess energy

While radical approaches may work for a while, people rarely thrive at extremes for long.  After hitting a wall, most sadly ‘fall off the wagon,’ revert to their old habits, and quickly undo all their hard work and deprivation.

Nutrition can appear complex; between the food you eat and your unique metabolism, there are a lot of interacting moving parts!  But the good news is you don’t have to throw out everything you are doing now to progress toward your goals.  

You may already be closer than you think to your ideal way of eating that will empower you to achieve your goals.  It’s likely you only need to make a few tweaks to start moving towards optimal. 

With so many conflicting voices in the nutrition space — not to mention financial and belief-based conflicts of interest — most people are left confused and don’t know what they need to tweak.  

That’s why we created the Micros Masterclass: to empower you to fine-tune your current diet to reach your long-term goals! 

During the Micros Masterclass, Nutrient Optimiser will guide you to make better food choices incrementally by identifying new foods and meals to plug any micronutrient gaps you may currently have.

What Is the Micros Masterclass Based On?

We have been fortunate to have access to large data sets that have allowed us to design a data-driven, agnostic approach to nutrition.  This has enabled people to escape from extreme, belief-based practices. 

Over the past five years, we have amassed 125,761 days of macronutrient and micronutrient data from 34,519 people who have used Nutrient Optimiser to fine-tune their nutrition. 

Our analysis of this data has prompted us to have a deeper understanding of how each essential vitamin, mineral, amino acid, and fatty acid affects your satiety and appetite. 

In the Micros Masterclass, you will learn how to leverage the power of these data-driven insights to dial in your micronutrients and give your body what it needs to thrive!   

This deep understanding of each of the micronutrients has been baked into the 600 NutriBoosters Recipes that are embedded into Nutrient Optimiser, which you will use throughout the Micros Masterclass.

Do I Need to Complete the Macros Masterclass First?

Balancing your macronutrients (i.e., protein, carbs and fat) can help to improve your nutrient density and get you in the right ballpark to dial in your micronutrients more easily.  Dialling in nutrient density is like the icing on the cake of Nutritional Optimisation. 

However, although the Macros Masterclass is a helpful prerequisite for working on nutrient density, you don’t have to complete it before the Micros Masterclass.  We will start baselining in the first week and dial in minerals and vitamins in the subsequent weeks.   

What Do I Need to Participate in the Micros Masterclass?

In the Macros Masterclass, we teach you how to tailor your macros to ensure your weight, body fat, blood glucose, and waist measurement progress towards optimal.  

In contrast, the primary focus throughout the Micros Masterclass is on the micronutrients in the food you eat.

We want to show you how to use the minimum effective dose of data from your tracking to balance your diet at the micronutrient level.  This helps to prevent overwhelm.

While you can track biometrics like weight, body fat, glucose, and your waistline, it’s not a critical part of the process and is thus optional during the Micros Masterclass.   

When you join the Micros Masterclass, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up Nutrient Optimiser and the free Cronometer app to track and analyse your food. 

How Much Time Will I Need to Participate in the Micros Masterclass?

Over the four weeks, you will need to set aside some time every day to track your food and read the Daily Lessons.  You can also ask questions and read through what everyone is learning in the Activity Feed. 

We host hour-long live Q&A sessions each weekend that you can participate in.  If you can’t make it live, you can watch the replay.  

Each weekend, you will need a little extra time to plan and shop for the coming week.  But once you get into the swing of things, you will find that a bit of planning can save a lot of time and decision fatigue during the week.

What if I Have a Question?

The quest for Nutritional Optimisation with like-minded people is always more powerful and fun than trying to go at it alone!  

That’s why we will be running the Micros Masterclass in a dedicated group setting where you can ask any questions at any time.  All the essential details are laid out clearly in the Course Content area, and you can always search through these FAQs. 

While we may have covered the ‘frequently asked questions’, new questions always arise.  If you have a question, there are likely others who have the same one, so we encourage you to ask it.  

In the group setting, you will get answers from different people with varying and complementary experiences.   We love the discussions that arise from the questions as people reflect and learn.
