Angela’s Green Protein Shake

Smoothies are a quick way for many Optimisers to start the day with protein and nutrients, especially when you don’t have much time. 

This green protein shake by Angela Stephens uses collagen as the protein base with chard chia seeds, strawberries, and Brazil nuts to boost the nutrients and flavour profile.  

Chia boosts the omega-3 content along with a range of minerals, a single Brazil nut provides you with your daily selenium, strawberries supply you with vitamin C, and the chard fills in some of the missing nutrients, like vitamins A, C, E, and K1

Ingredients

Yield: 1 serving

  • 2 scoops (31 grams) of collagen  
  • 2 cups (72 grams) of Swiss chard
  • 0.35 oz (10 grams) chia seeds
  • ½ cup (76 grams) of strawberries
  • 1 tsp (5.7 grams) cinnamon
  • 1.2 tsp (2.8 grams) allspice
  • 1 Brazil nut
  • 2 cups (475 mL) almond milk or milk of choice

Directions

  1. Soak your chia seeds in almond milk for at least 20 minutes before blending them; you can soak them overnight to have them ready to go anytime. 
  2. Place all of the ingredients in a blender.
  3.  Blend on high until smooth. 
  4. Add extra milk or water until you achieve your desired consistency. 
  5. Voila!  Bon appetite!
